About Us
At Seamen’s Society for Children and Families, our approach is comprehensive and holistic. Assistance is provided at every possible touchpoint. The program provides enhanced training, services, and resources to birth parents, foster parents who care for these children, as well as to the children themselves. Some of the services include:
- Individualized service planning and coordination
- Clinical and case management services
- Crisis intervention and support
- Educational advocacy and tutoring
- Recreational and cultural activities
The Foster Care team is here to help children heal from trauma, develop positive coping skills, and achieve stability and permanency in a loving family environment.

Community Connections: Seamen’s Society works with numerous NYC agencies and area non-profit organizations and is able to leverage those resources to support the children and families in our care.
Our Impact
- Last year alone, Seamen’s Society served close to 500 children in their foster care program.
- During this past year, Seamen’s Society helped 42 children find a permanent family through adoption.
- Supporting moms and dads is what we do! This past year alone, our Foster Care program reunited 60 children with their parents.
